  1. I enjoyed the part about transformational coaching. My first year of coaching 7-8 yr olds was a learning lesson. I went in with the mindset that developing the kids was the priority. After barely losing our first game, I felt influenced by my assistant coaches and my mindset changed to winning as the priority. I didn’t like losing and my competitive spirit kicked in overdrive. We had a successful season based on wins, but I had an empty feeling afterwards knowing I could’ve developed the kids better. Including my own son.

  2. “out hustle” , “out work”, ‘out passion”.

Being the best competitor on the field.

All these things take absolutely zero talent and as a player you have full control over them.

The by-product is a winning culture. It’s not about you. It’s about the team. The moment a young player realizes this, is the moment his career will take off and go to the moon. All the pressure comes off of you! It’s liberating.

I loved this interview Spring. Thanks for sharing!!
